50 Beowulf Inceptor ARX ammunition is a medium game and home defense load. The projectile is made of a polymer-metal hybrid and is 100% lead-free. Projectile features a unique, tri-flute design that offers extremely impressive terminal ballistics, including an enlarged temporary cavity and projectile fragmentation for secondary wound channels. Suitable for hunting most deer-sized game and ideal for hunting hog to ranges of 250 yards. Feeds and functions perfectly in 50 Beowulf aluminum magazines and in all .50 Beowulf weapon systems. Even the heaviest clothing barriers have no effect on the terminal performance of the ARX bullet. The ARX penetrates straight until it encounters soft tissue. Upon entering soft tissue, the specially designed grooves in the nose harness the rotational energy of the bullet during the initial 6” of penetration. As the bullet penetrates it tumbles in a controlled, predictable fashion that delivers very consistent terminal performance that equals or exceeds conventional hollow point designs. The flutes in the nose of the ARX bullet harness the gain in kinetic energy accrued due to the increased velocity of fluid through the constriction designed into those flutes. Fluid passing through the ARX flutes travels between one-and-a-half to two-times the velocity of the bullet. In soft tissue, the ARX is designed to penetrate 12” to 14”, every time.
Alexander Arms is the originator of the large caliber AR15 style weapon concept. The .50 Beowulf was designed to generate devastating stopping power at short to moderate ranges. Combining the rugged reliability of the AR15/M16 style weapons with a unique .500 inch projectile and cartridge, this semi automatic weapon is ideal as a brush hunting weapon which is capable of knocking down virtually anything you may run across. For wild pig hunting the rifle is without equal and is being used not only by hunters, but by game control agencies as well. Deer in close cover are easily taken with solid hits guaranteeing one shot kills and little or no tracking. The same reliable combination of heavy large diameter bullets and moderate velocities enable the Beowulf to tackle the largest game animals found in North America and it has been used against Elk, Buffalo and Bear with superb results. Providing a semi automatic, light carbine with the performance of the venerable 45-70 rifle, the .50 Beowulf has found wide acceptance with Military and Law Enforcement agencies. The external ballistics of the Beowulf cartridge are well suited to urban environments where the shorter range template allows for more flexible application and the large projectile energy delivered by the ammunition can disable both motor vehicles and assailants with body armor. Windscreen glass does not affect the trajectory of the bullet nor does automotive body panels.
Inceptor manufactures the highest quality bullets available to the ammo re-loader. Inceptor Ammunition has redefined the bullet manufacturing process by applying advanced injection molding technology, cutting edge engineering and a highly specialized metal-polymer compound to designs and a process that results in precise, consistent, accurate, low ricochet, range compliant bullets with sound terminal performance. The ARX is a revolutionary bullet in every sense of the word. From the way it’s manufactured, to its shape to the way it transfers energy to the target. To understand the ARX, one needs to forget nearly everything they have been told about bullets. The non-expanding ARX is injection molded from a specially blended metal/polymer matrix that is designed to be tough enough to penetrate soft targets and tissue, but when it encounters tougher barriers it is designed to break apart to reduce the risk of collateral damage due to over penetration. Even the heaviest clothing barriers have no effect on the terminal performance of the ARX bullet. The ARX penetrates straight until it encounters soft tissue. Upon entering soft tissue, the specially designed grooves in the nose harness the soft tissue and constrict, pressurize and eject it at 1.5 to 2 times the directional speed of the bullet. This is the well-known Venturi Effect. As the bullet penetrates it tumbles in a controlled, predictable fashion that delivers very consistent terminal performance that equals or exceeds conventional hollow point designs.
The combination of devastating stopping power and absolute reliability in a lightweight, familiar form factor, the .50 Beowulf from Alexander Arms is simply without equal. Please note the 50 Beowulf uses a cartridge case with a rim that is rebated. The rim dimensions are the same as the 7.62x39mm cartridge. Designed for use only with the Alexander Arms 50 Beowulf upper receiver. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.
